Today, Senior Chief Al-Hajj Katuli from Mangochi district urged members of various community rights groups to desist from corrupt practices in promoting the rights and welfare of people in his area.
The Senior Chief sent a stern warning to community leaders who accept bribes from perpetrators of human rights abuses during an interface meeting which YONECO in partnership with NCA-DCA conducted in his area.
The interface meeting was organized to strengthen community systems to effectively prevent and respond to incidences of Trafficking in Persons (TIP) which are prevalent in the area.
Among other stakeholders, the meeting was attended by members of Community Victim Support Units, Community Action Groups as well as traditional and religious leaders.
